Thursday 24/6/10 CSIRIS Work

Approaching the end of our work at the CSIR, our objective was to assure that our that our deliverables were up to standard. Again, the pressure was on, our work was not at a safisfactory level and much of it required to be completed at home. I had finished the storyboard using a presentation file, Maritz assisted me with this. Our Group focused on the report and our expectations are to finish our presentation and speech tomorrow so that the team has no work outstanding for the CSIR. I think I now know how companies and businesses feel at the end of the month, even how some employees feel when they have to meet deadlines. Interesting :)

The week is coming slowly to an end, the pressure and deadlines are getting closer. Our group had no time for games and small talk today. We brushed up on every deliverable we had mistakes in and I began the storyboard which entailed a presentation of our findings and research. There are some people not following instructions or taking charge of their work, this could increase our mass of work to be completed, however, these are just one of the problems that must be overcome in the proffesional world.

Tuesday 22/6/10 CSIRIS Work

Our team were back in the groove of working. Our afternoon was spent altering our delivarables for final hand-in due to some misunderstandings and context of the given topics and I worked on touching up our Embedded Librarian Project. Our project leaders are guiding us well in our project, and many of our members are making the most of our experience at the CSIR. Our morning was filled with fun tasks as a workshop by the knowledge comments group was held, which allowed us to part-take self discovery and team playing in a proffesional world. It was a great day at the CSIR

Monday 21/6/10 CSIRIS Work

Monday is always a difficult morning to get up, I was 5minutes late to work. Our location was now back to the CSIR HQ where a batch of PC's were ready for our group to continue out work.
It was a smooth going day and much of our push and pull technologies assignment was completed, some of us began with the report and presentation. Our project leader gave us feedback on our current progress, she guided us in the right direction and gave us valuable tips regarding our content/context. We realize that we are a few steps behind in our project, and require some sort of supervision to further our projects.

Friday 18/6/10 CSIRIS Work

A great start off to the day, though campus is very quiet. We managed to assign task between ourselves very well. We had an independant focus on our work in past few days, but today we we were doing much group work. I had my research fully formatted and thoroughly analyzed for errors or ommisions. Everyone is working well together, I hope we can continue in this manner and complete our tasks before the deadline. I look forward to a great weekend under a blanket :)

Thursday 17/06/10 CSIRIS Work

After a sad day for the nation after their loss in the Soccer, I was up early ready for work and spent the entire day on my research which soley focused on the analysis and impact of Virtual Spaces which was interesting. I managed to get the work done in good timing due to the silence, no disturbances and a short lunch. I hope to be back at the CSIR campus soon.

Tuesday 15/06/10 CSIRIS Work

I was unable to attend work on tuesday due to my home getting broken into which was a horrific experience. The whole day was spent at the police station and finding out what items were stolen, but the work on embedded librarianship was well handled by my fellow collegues.

Monday 14/06/10 CSIRIS Work

I didn't expect anything close to what the CSIR really entailed. After Fridays introductory session, I was impresed with the work environment of the CSIR and the jobs/tasks required by employees and interns. My work was done, however, due to lack of internet connectivity, we were unable to do our research and blog uploads. This unfortunately resulted to us relocating back to our UP premisis. All in all, it was a great day and I learned what a webinaar is.
